Amla Candy Recipe

 Amla Candy is a simple and nutritious treat made from fresh Indian gooseberries. This candy combines the tangy flavor of Amla balanced with sugar and salty flavors.

This humble fruit increases immunity, slows down ageing, reduces blood sugar, increases metabolism, purifies blood, helps fight common cold, improves eye sight. Besides many other vitamins and minerals, it contains eight times the Vit C found in your regular orange.



Ingredients:

Amla - 200 grams/ 8 number
Salt - 1 tsp
Ginger - 2 inch
Sugar - 1 Cup (250 gms)
Cornflour - 1 tbsp
Ghee - 1 tsp
Sugar Powder - 2-3 tbsp
Cardamom - 1

METHOD:

• Wash and dry the amla(gooseberry).Then steam the amla for 20 min.

• After cool down remove the seeds. In a mean while grate the ginger.

• In a mixer jar add steamed amla, grated ginger and salt. Grind it to a smooth paste.

• Heat the pan, add grounded amla paste and sugar mix well and stir occasionally.

• Boil it until it becomes slightly thick now add cornflour paste stir continuously and add ghee to it.stir until the paste thickens.

• Now transfer it to the greased plate. Cut into the desire shape. Leave it for cool down.

• Now in a  mixer jar add sugar and cardamom and make powder. Keep it aside.

• Now take a piece of candy and roll it to the sugar powder. Store it to the glass jar.

• You can keep this candy outside for 15 days.
